My max2 has displayed an odd graphic indication or icon that I have no idea what it is or what it is telling me. See attached picture (sorry, wish it was a little better quality)
I've had the max2 for many years, but this is the first time I've ever seen it. I was driving from upstate NY to Cincinnati over the memorial day weekend (2018) and observed it at least 40 times during the trip. The display would beep then display what either looks like a plane or a satellite (or something) with a distance indicating in feet that would count down from as high as 5000 ft down to near zero. It would then hang out for a few seconds, then beep again and revert to its typical indication. At no time did I see any police in the area. Maybe related to another vehicle sensor? Or some towers? Once I was in NY, it never happened again. Mainly in Ohio on Interstate 71, 271, and 90. |

Looks like a notification that the police use an airplane to check speed in that area. It's provided by the internal Defender database, much like any other warning (red light or speed camera, common speed trap, etc.).

This is an Air Patrol alert. It is notifying you that there is aircraft enforcement in this area.
Police use lines on the highway and a stopwatch to measure your speed from aircraft (typically small planes). They then radio a cruiser on the ground to pull over the offending vehicles. Since nothing is being emitted, this speed measurement method is totally undetectable. We have these marks on the highway logged in our database and will alert you to them if you have the alerts enabled. You can disable Air Patrol alerts if you like.
