Escort 9500i when powers off, does not work again until next day

Hi everyone, not sure if this board is still active but I have a strange issue with my Escort 9500i radar. I recently purchased the defender subscription and updated my device with Mac Detector Tools. Message indicated firmware is current.

When I began using radar again, the device works but stops working if I turn off the car, cutting off power to the radar. When I turn the car back on, the device powers up but my driving speed no longer displays (shows speed at 0).

The device will no longer work until the next day, after the device has been off overnight. When I start my car again, the device works and tracks speed up until I turn off my car, cutting power to the radar. Again if I start the car again and radar powers up, speed stops tracking and will not track again until the next day when it's been off overnight.

I tried factory resetting the device which was successful but it did not fix this issue. Anyone encounter this issue before?

You could call in to customer service , but be aware the 9500i is very old unit. It's probably time to look into an upgrade.

It may be that the GPS is now taking longer to lock in - do you see the gps icon spinning when it is showing 0 mph?

If you leave you car on for 15 mins, does the gps icon stop spinning?

The GPS if I remember correctly only spins when it's picking up a locked out alert. I think it blinks if it's trying to lock on the signal. It's been so long since I ran those units it's slipping my mind, but someone else please chime in here that remembers.
