I hope they are being tested in Canada as well, specifically Alberta.
If not, I'll volunteer to be a tester.

Default Map updates

I just got my IQ this weekend. How can I tell if I have the latest maps?

Go to the Settings/About screen, map version: 1.3 is the latest.

If you purchased your Passport iQ from us and did not receive a SD card with the new maps then please send me a private message with your name and address.

The above was posted back in March. I'm currently running version 1.1 of the maps in my iQ. I want to update but my question to you is should I go ahead and purchase the 1.3 update or is a version 1.4 right around the corner so should I wait?

Thank you,
Hugh

I doubt if 1.4 will be available in 2014. It will probably be released in early 2015.

With the IQ I bought less than 6 months ago being discontinued, will the map updates still go on? Still waiting for an update that includes a highway that has been open for 2 years.

We are not sure at this point. If we do then it will most probably happen in early 2015.

It's really unfortunate if updates and support ends for the IQ. I purchased the IQ knowing that the GPS wasn't very good but thinking that as software and map updates were released, it would eventually get better. Hearing that it's discontinued and whether future updates will even exist to fix things that should have been addressed before releasing it has me feeling like I've been had. I've owned a lot of Escort's products over the years but seeing the plug be pulled so quickly on what could be a groundbreaking device has me thinking that the next time I am in the market for a detector, maybe I should look elsewhere.
