Default both new SR's laser falsing constantly!

So, I have two new SR's installed in two different vehicles: in my car and on my motorcycle. They had both starting falsing more than once per minute under no repeatable situations. Light acceleration, decel, constant speed, morning, day, north, south, turns... no pattern.

So, on the bike I tried installing a choke right near the detector, no help. One other thing to note is that in the car, I have a 9500ix that exhibits nothing but stellar behavior (that's what I've been running over the past week or so). Of course I tried moving the mounting location around too.

Lastly, for the heck of it I took the one out of my car and "flashed" the firmware again. I say it that way because I'm pretty sure it's well-known that there never was an updated image but I am hoping it reflashed anyway. The point is, the one in my car IS NO LONGER FALSING. It really was falsing constantly over the course of many days in a row of testing and trying different things. It has now gone about 2 hours of driving with no falses.

Explanation?

HA foot in mouth lol. Have you tried updating both units to see if it fixes the other like the 1st?

LOL - used to happen to me all the time at work. I'd just speed read the subject line.

Not yet, just did this yesterday but I sure hope it works for it too.

That's odd both decided to do that at the same time. On both of the SR I've owned, I went ahead and hooked them to detector tools and ran "updates" aka reflashes on them and never have had a laser false. Not even once, but still get great laser detection performance.

They do love to alert to the lasers on the red light cameras in my area. It's mildly annoying, but a good way to know the laser detection is still in good working order.

Default UPDATE: Tech support needed, may help other users

Wow, not happy. So, it turns out that the problem was my "new" LG G2 phone. Timeline:

1. Bought the SR's a couple months ago and they worked fine. Was using a Samsung Note 2 at the time.
2. Switched over to a LG G2 that was allegedly new. It certainly didn't start falsing even the same day so I never put this together.
3. A couple weeks ago my LG phone can't get a data connection (Ting tells me that the SIM card is damaged) so within a couple days I reactivate my Note 2. Right at about the same time I just happened to flash the firmware on my SR to see if that would fix the falsing problems.
4. I run the Note 2 and the flashed SR for six days and not one laser false so of course I think the firmware fixed it.
5. I get a new SIM card for the LG phone yesterday, get a new line added and go run errands last night running Escort Live (EL) on the LG G2 and bam!, falsing laser alerts. My heart drops as it seems like I've got 3 new devices (2 SR's and my LG G2 and all these other things breaking lately) all failing at the same time!

So, I this morning I put it together. I start my commute out with the G2 and what do you know, false laser alerts right out of my neighborhood. Setup the Note 2 and nothing but silence for the rest of the commute.

So, can a faulty bluetooth connection or bluetooth transmitter in the phone cause the SR to false? Maybe the phone's voltage regulator (or power supply section of the board) is faulty which might explain how this phone "damaged the SIM card" and therefore is causing bluetooth issues too? Seems backwards to me but the proof is in the pudding.

Escort tech support? Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance

I wonder if the phone infrared sensor is activating, like when it focuses for a picture? I know my last phone would shoot a quick infrared shot right before the pic to focus and adjust exposure. My current phone doesn't have that.

Well, it doesn't look like it's taking a picture at the time.

So, does Escort support just not even look in the SR forum?
