Yeah, I did that here once and it was removed. But it is easy to find: go on amazon or google for :

TP-Link AC750 Wireless Portable Nano Travel Router(TL-WR902AC) - Support Multiple Modes, WiFi Router/Hotspot/Bridge/Range Extender/Access Point/Client Modes, Dual Band WiFi, 1 USB 2.0 Port

It is <$50 now.

My R360c connects to it like a champ. I had to get this because my in-car wifi only broadcasts a 5GHz signal. So this router connects to it and puts out a 2.4GHz wifi for me to connect the Redline to.

If I turn the hotspot on on my phone and enter the credentials into the detector's app, shouldn't it connect?

I have yet to be able to connect to my phpne's hot spot, but I have been able to connect to my home wifi.

What am I doing wrong?

I'd really prefer to use the phone's hot spot for periodic updates because the wifi connection to my house is very weak in the driveway.

Thoughts and suggestions?

I'm your phones hotspot settings there may be an option to switch the frequency to 2.4GHz. if so do that and try to connect then.

There is and Ill try that. I recently switched to 5k if I'm not mistaken as the speeds were significantly faster in a rural section of FL I was visiting recently.

I had a Samsung Note 20 Ultra and recently got a S21 Ultra. My Note 20 Ultra connected to my phone hotspot no problem, and now I can't get it to connect to my S21 at all via hotspot.

I gave up on the phone hotspot thing and just left it on my home wi-fi. It barely reaches in my driveway, but apparently it's good enough to get the job done.

When I pull in the driveway, it usually connects to the wifi pretty quickly as indicated by the white speed box and then notifies me of the option for detector or database updates when available.

The updates are a little slow because of the wif-fi range issue in the driveway, but it's not like I have to do them everyday.

You could always put a repeater in your garage to extend your home wifi range so you have a better connection.

I would like to know if anyone got this to work in a 2020 or 2021 GM Vehicle?
