Default Actual speed on unit is +1mph

My speedometer and the Escort Live app read the same mph. The speed on the iXc is always indicating 1mph higher.

Which one do you believe?

Believe your speedometer.

The accuracy on the iXc display (and Escort Live, I believe, and most likely all GPS based speed detecting units) are not accurate to the point, and they don't have to be, because, as far as I know, unlike your speedo, there is no requirement for these devices to meet some established calibration standard. I have 4 or 5 of the iXc and only one truly coincides with my speedometer. The others are within +/- 1 to 2 mph of what my speedo displays.

Keep in mind that depending on what Kind of car you are driving your speedometer might be inaccurate ( usually some manufacturers set it up to show a higher speed than the one you actually have)
I will give you some personal examples :
VW Passat it was always for me 5-6 KM/h under the real speed
VW Jetta same as above
Mitsubishi Outlander - 6-8% difference depending on the speed
Nissan Altima 6 KM/h under
Toyota Venza 100% spot on
Ford/s Different models 100% spot on

Excellent observation. BMWs also tend to be conservative.

the accuracy of the speed your speedometer shows is dependent on gears and their ratio of the cables and sensors connected to your transmission and were designed to perform with tires of a specific diameter by the manufacture, as your tires wear and if you change them to another size and as they wear affects the speed calibration.
GPS units have other built in issues that affect their accuracy, satellite movement, orbit decay, software shift to keep us safe from foreign attack all these things can through off your readings a little.

you may want to not be so anal when it comes to matching readings.
after all 1 mph is not going to get you a ticket.

Any GPS speedo is going to be more accurate than the cars speedo. Typically the cars speedo is going to read 1 to 2 mph faster than you are actually going and as the tires wear down the error will increase. There is a lot of historysis in the speedo of my Mustang when approaching a speed from below it will read a couple of MPH low and when coming down to a speed from above it will read a couple MPH high (this is in the 50 to 60 mph range). The digital speed displayed when I activate the cruise control will agree with all my detectors as well as the speedo app in my cell phone.
