I just purchased the redline radar detector and it seems to have an issue. When locking onto a radar source, X and Ka so far, as I continue to travel it will not let go of that radar signal. The strength stays the exact same level as I drive into know areas where there is no known source. I have also confirmed this flaw with my older radar detector mounted alongside of the redline, which is a 9500i. I have only owned the new redline device for 1 week and have done 4 trips so far. The only option I have is to power down the redline unit and restart, which immediately drops the signal and shows there are no signals in the area.
It seems to me that I may have a malfunctioning device right out of the box. I have used Escort detectors since 1980 so I know how they work. Has anyone else had this issue? |

You are doing the Redline a disservice by operating another detector next to it. Run it solo and see if the issue goes away.

I did run the Redline only, the 9500i was only used as a debugging tool on 2 different test runs to confirm there was no signal present.

Ya know I had that happen to me when I was running the Live with my Redline. I think the as one bar of Kband that would not go away ....I restarted it....and it didnt happen again.....
I download verson 1.0.3 last night and went of a 150mile trip and both Live and my Redline work as it should. |

If I had one guess, this is what I think you will see from the Escort rep on Monday.

Bought the Redline through AutoAnything with 15% off, nice deal. Did the upgrade through the Live cord I just recieved and after going through the same area of signals it seems to have fix the issue. Thanks nrogero
While upgrading the Redline I also found out that I can send in my 9500i to Escort and for $130 they will completely upgrade the unit to a 9500ix with hardware and software, including a new casing. Sound like a sweet deal for those who purchased too early for the iX. |

I have had that update and it is great. Just be aware that TSR filtering does not work with the upgrade. It may not be an issue if its not being used in your area.

The constant signal happened again today on my new Redline. It was a Ka with 3 bars that stayed constant for 3 miles in a known area. Even drove around a few buildings to see if the signal would vary. Guess I need to call into Escort to see what my options are.
