That seems to be in line with most lower tire ESCORT units, the iXc comes to mind. I'd have expected more straight line range per the advertisements. What version s'ware were you running for this test? By the way, are you talking straight line range?

Ha! You won't poop on my parade. . It was a minimum of 1.4 miles, and could have been longer, this is just where I exited my community to get on a main stretch.

I am very satisfied with over a mile of accurate detection range. : ).

The range is one of the absolute best on the market on the REdline 360.....

I would gladly take a 1/2 to 3/4 mile detection and still have enough time to slow down. There are guys making fun of the RL360c and comparing it to other detectors that have picked up a signal 8 miles away.... what the heck is that good for?!? I have posted 2.3 miles straight on with the front horns and 2.1 miles with the rear horn on the same run. Crazy long detections. You can check it out here:

Agree. At 1.5 miles, if the user gets a ticked, I wonder why they even bother using a RD. That's plenty of time to slow down. In fact, I would cap range at ~2 miles for BSM detection or some other user friendly feature. Unfortunately it seems like detector manufacturers are constantly searching for better range.

There are so many more features other than gross range that make a great radar detector.

Agreed. Anything beyond 1.5 miles is just flat out annoying and unnecessary IMO. The Redline 360c, for me, is by far the best detector I've owned. BSM falsing is much improved with K notch on and the range is ideal for the way I drive. Love this thing! Haters gonna hate and love those that keep talking about Theia - a detector that is merely a thought at this point! But go ahead, keep bashing Escort and the new Redline. While you're complaining, I'm constantly getting saved. You're missing out!!

The more range you can get the better especially for instant on encounters. If you aren’t into range then there’s always the lower end detectors , but even the cheaper detectors these days have decent range. The Redline is in a class all on its own and I love it !!!!

Well said. I agree. The increase in range from my Max360c is appreciated though, since sometimes it was right on the edge of comfort. (Never got a ticket with that one though either).

I am learning to appreciate the sound of silence though.
