Default Is X band not as important?

I'm just curious why there's an "autonox" setting, as if to imply the X band is not as important as others.

Can I upgrade to the Redline EX or must it be a trade-in?

X band is typically relegated to automatic door openers and those "Your Speed Is..." signs. They're no longer in widespread use by Police any more. If X is still used in your area by the local LEOs, then you can elect to keep X-band active.

Concerning the question of about upgrading, older Redlines have a trade-in allowance, but there's no "upgrade" offering, otherwise.

X band is really only used in a handful of areas in the country. Some states like California for example don't allow X or K band to be used.
There is no way Escort can "upgrade" your old Redline to an EX. Best bet would be to do a 30 day trial on the EX to make sure it's what you expect.

AFAIK, X band is only used in Ohio and parts of southern New Jersey. If you're not in one of these two areas you can likely turn it off without much risk.
