I have a hard-wired F750, so a separate "Cell Link" battery isn't needed. It goes into parking-lot mode as soon as I switch-off my car.

Love these things! It saved my tail last year when a driver ran a red-light.

Yeah, after getting my '15 Camry, I'm a little more concerned about things like that and parking lot incidents. Mine's hardwired too, but I didn't want the car's battery to be discharged excessively, especially in the winter. I'd rather have a separate, independent battery that can be recharged when the car's running.

My F750 also has a full power-off option after a specified amount of time. In my case, eight hours. There really isn't much of a power drain, though.

The biggest downfall I'm seeing with the separate battery is that you have no information as to what the battery's voltage is, except on the video. I think I'm going to need to rig up an aftermarket meter I can pull out from under the seat to see what the voltage is. I think the camera shut down some time last night because I didn't see the "Knight Rider" sweeping eye this morning.
