I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Roy Reyer at SML 2008. I attended SML 2008 as his guest. I stayed with Roy in his mobile home throughout the entire SML 2008 event. Roy was a very gracious host who cooked delicious steaks and who was a pleasure to talk to.

Following is a photo of Roy at the SML 2008 event, just before he is about to take a ride on one of his motorcycles:

I also have to mention how remarkably professional the El Paso Police Department were at the SML 2008 event. They assigned several officers who served not only to secure the event in terms of safety for all SML 2008 participants, but also served to confirm all of the SML 2008 test results. The El Paso Police Officers were, and to a tee, very professional yet very human people which anyone would be happy to meet and get to know. The El Paso Police Officers also had quite a good sense for humor throughout the SML 2008 event. Following is a photo of one of these fine El Paso police officers "shooting" me (at my request) with a radar gun:

I can't say enough about the professionalism which was exhibited by Radar Roy, by all of the manufacturer participants, and by all of the El Paso Police Department at the SML 2008 event which I attended. I will sincerely miss Roy. He was a legend within the radar detector industry.
