Default Opinion on Laser Shifter Pro Placements.

I would like them to be installed in these pockets (red arrows) that the installer pointed out but functionality is most important.

The install shop installs several of these as they are located by many high end auto dealers (Porsche, Audi, Ferrari etc..) and the installer mentioned that the install of the shifters are critical, millimeters matter.

I have done business for many many years with the company (they have several stores) and they do A+ work but I still like doing my home work and wanted some opinions from the experts on here.

I know they have to be level and parallel to the road so I'm not sure exactly what they will look like in the pockets because the pockets look angled.

The green "would this be better" options would probably be best suited because they are closer to the headlights and nearer to the front license plate than your primary choice. I would also recommend replacing the grill with a black one to reduce reflectivity.

Thanks for the reply!

Would the other locations (Red Arrows) work? This car has them installed in the same area... http://escortradarforum.com/forums/s...ead.php?t=9007

Just wondering as I don't know if the shifters fit in the grill without modification.

Green is ideal. The jammers have roughly an 18" (rule of thumb) radius for detection and so the placement where the green arrows are will give you coverage for the headlights, grill, and front plate. Plus they're higher up so it'll help as you crest a hill.

The red location would actually be terrible in practice. It leaves a big gaping hole right in the center of the vehicle, plus they'd be crazy low.

Luckily your grill is just about ideal for jammer placement as well so with that option, you'll be all set.

Thanks for the replies! I kinda knew the answer but wanted to hear it anyway. Yes the front grill should allow the shifters to be placed where the green arrows are. I will measure slot openings and see if I can find the measurement for the shifters online.

Thanks!

Just wish Escort had the firmware update so I knew I was protected against all laser guns out there. Still buying the 9500ci because I have always trusted Escort and it is a sweet piece!

I think green as well. Will your car have a front plate?

No front plate required. That picture is one I grabbed off the Internet. It's an Audi S3 just not mine...

Green, BUT even further separated.............min 2 feet, max 3 feet apart!! Put em closer to the headlights.................

Audi and VW, best grills of all for parking sensor placement.
