Exclamation OEM Integration into Mercedes, Audi, Porsche and more

ESCORT Radar and Mid City Engineering Announce OEM Integration of the MAX Ci and MAX Ci 360 into Mercedes, Audi, Porsche and more

All alert information displayed across multiple instrument cluster menus and heads up display with full steering wheel controls

Long Beach, CA - February 23, 2018 -- ESCORT, the leader in premium radar and laser detection technology, and Mid City Engineering, a leading national provider specializing in OEM integration for premium vehicles, today announced OEM integration of the ESCORT MAX Ci and MAX Ci 360, as well as the new ESCORT iX Ci, through the new Mid City Engineering interface, available now. This new interface will enable direct alert information across all instrument clusters with full steering wheel controls. The new interface along with all three ESCORT custom install systems will be on display at KnowledgeFest- Long Beach in booth #316, February 23 – 25, 2018.

The new OEM interface from Mid City Engineering will allow the alerts detected from the ESCORT MAX Ci 360 and MAX Ci to be displayed in the OEM instrument cluster across multiple pages and menus, including heads-up displays. Through the interface, drivers will be able to have full steering wheel controls of the ESCORT detection systems including menu access, display preferences, mute, mark location, volume sensitivity and other settings. It will also include programmable display preferences including digital speedometer. The Mid City Engineering interface is available now for Mercedes Benz, Audi, Porsche, Jaguar and Jeep Grand Cherokee with more manufacturers being added in the coming weeks.

“With the new ESCORT OEM interface, you have no visible modules, no cutting wires, just seamless integration,” said Noah Thatcher, Project Manager, Mid City Engineering. “Our world renowned OEM integration is a perfect match for Escort's stealth installation.”

Designed to be seamlessly integrated into the vehicle, the ESCORT iX Ci and ESCORT MAX Ci feature long range and advance range front radar protection against all radar speed monitoring devices, with the ability to add on additional rear radar as well as front and rear laser shifter for a unique and completely custom installation. The ESCORT MAX Ci 360 includes both front and rear radar receivers as well as front and rear laser shifters for complete 360 degrees for driver alert awareness with directional threat warning.

“With the new OEM interface from Mid City Engineering, we are able to give drivers an even cleaner and more discreet alert and control system inside their vehicles,” said Brady Siebert, Sales Director, Cedar Electronics. “For the installers, it helps minimize the time integrating the display on these vehicles.”

The ESCORT MAX Ci and MAX Ci 360 are available now through Authorized Escort Specialist Retailers. The ESCORT iX Ci will be available in April 2018. The ESCORT Ci line of products range from $1,499.95 to $3,599.95 before installation. The OEM interface is available now for $449 directly from Mid City Engineering.

Default Maxinta29

I had the MAXINTA29 installed in my 2019 Audi Q7 Prestige (with heads up display) along with the Escort Max Ci 360. My vehicle has heads up display, but the radar information does not show up in the heads up display. Not even when I’m using navigation. The navigation information shows up in the heads up display. Also, the rear radar isn’t working properly on the system. Shows front radar in the virtual Cockpit, and shows front arrow during detection, but not the rear. Also, I cannot use the mute button with the sen button on the control panel to change preferences. Is the radar detector information supposed to show up in the heads up display on my vechcle? Is this normal not to be able to press mute and sen buttons to enter preferences withe the MAXINTA29 installed. I have an Escort MAX ci 360 installed in my 2019 Corvette, and I have no problem with the system in that vehicle. This system was installed in my Audi on March 17 and the installers still cannot figure out what the issue is. They did tell me that when they drove the vehicle, they saw the rear alert in the driver information center. So, I don’t know if this is an intermittent problem, or it stopped working. They are also looking into it possibly being a problem with the Max Ci 360 itself. If this model is not designed to display the max ci 360 information in my heads up display, that;’s fine. I just need to know;, however, shouldn’t I be able to use the mute and sen buttons together to enter the preference mode on the Max Ci 360?

Having had the 2018 Audi Q7 with heads up display and now a 2019 Audi A6 with heads up display - I can tell you that MidCity has not upgraded this feature. I have been asking for almost 2 years and nothing. With the MidCity interface - you should be able to select the mute button on your steering wheel to mute as well as many other functions without ever touching the Escort Control pad. As for the other issues - I have not been able to get any of the interface to work on the 2019 Audi A6 so if you have something working on your 2019 Q7 - I am a surprised. It Audi instrument panel is the same for the 2019 Q7 and A6.

Took it back to the for the 5th time. Rear radar still not working. The installer said they have to order a replacement rear radar antenna from Escort and would let me know when it arrives. Hopefully that solves the problem. I am extremely happy with the Max Ci 360 that's in stalled in my C7, but completely disappointed and frustrated with the same system in my Q7. That's a lot of money to spend on something that they haven't been able to get to work properly for over 2 months since the initial install.

Yes, if you have the prestige model, or the upgraded option of the virtual cockpit, it's the same.
