Default Non-police LIDAR

I've read about LIDAR being used in autonomous and semi-autonomous systems in new and upcoming cars. It's also being used now for public transport. I swear some new metro buses are equipped with lidar after laser warnings next to some consistently in certain areas.

There's even mobile LIDAR for mapping purposes and even mounted on drones.

Is it even possible to have IVT filtering for LIDAR? Or some way to discern between different LIDAR applications like the stationary laser guns police use for speed and non-speed applications?

I inquired about lidar awhile back but was was told that there is not much that can be done in this regard especially in a radar detector, where lidar inclusion is basically a add-on (marketing necessity) and all the sophisticated circuitry goes toward the radar end, since detection of lidar by an RD is more of a ticket notifier rather than as in the case with shifters where all their circuitry is dedicated specifically to lidar handling. I would expect any innovations in this regard to come from the shifter side.

Best way to handle laser false alerts if they are stationary is to lock them out.

I have found that manual laser lockouts disappear from the User Database for a yet unknown reason. I get to test this daily on stationary 24/7/365 Poliscan laser speed cameras. I've even had a MAX back for service to check for this, with no issue found. My two 360c units likewise lose laser lockouts shortly after being confirmed as stored by the RD. Still a mystery on the laser lockout side.
