Ah, you are seeing K band alerts too. Instead of under the pavement coils, some intersections are using radar to know when to toggle the lights to change them. After several passes your iX will learn and store these signals and not alert to them anymore but you will still see them displayed in grey on the detector's display.

I will have our camera location supplier review this intersection again. Thanks for the information.

I think in volmans case, the detector is prioritizing the K band at the intersection over the GPS based alert. This is similar to what I have experienced at one intersection around town. Now it shows K greyed and locked out and alerts to the RL cam.

I don't know why detector dan isn't getting any RL alerts for his intersection though. Theres no K band alert so the GPS alerts should go through.

Stephan - quite correct. I've been through one of those two intersections twice since my post and both times I received the RLC voice warning. So I'm chalking that incident up to my not paying attention (not noticing I actually did get a voice alert).

The second intersection I won't pass through until tomorrow. I'll be paying attention this time.

It's a little funny because both those intersections come after automated laser cameras and I've been thinking about those after reading Poolmon's posts. So look at it like this - I'm on special assignment for Poolmon to figure out laser camera lockouts so my attention for other things is going into the toilet...

volman197020 -

Is the RLC camera the rectangular box on top of the pole on the left side of your photo (to the left of the wooden telephone pole)?

In Maryland, they look different. You mostly see them near school zones as well as intersections but they're closer to the ground. Still in metal boxes though.

Yes, that is the camera on top. The lower units are the flash and another box. It actually caught someone about 10 seconds after I took that photo.

Referring back to ER's earlier post, I manually locked out the K band alert going through the intersection at Hamill Rd and 153. Throughout the day today, I passed the intersection twice in both directions. I received one RLC alert AFTER I was clear of the intersection by about 100 yards. This was the camera that should still be in the database. I am concerned....
