Default Need a little help

Just purchased my first redline I live in Chicago area and would like to know what settings is best used in this area again I am very green when it comes to this so any help or info will help me out! So far I've seen a video recommending which setting to have on and off but trying to see any local chicago guys from Joliet to Chicago and what they run thank you

If you are looking at band segmentation, the general suggestion is that you may want to run the Redline in wide Ka mode and record what you are seeing. That would be a good indicator. I ran in the 2,5,8 Band Segmentation and then ran 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 every once in a while.

If you are asking about the settings other than the Band segmentation, RDR Off and TSR on is what I went with. But that's only part of the picture and what works for me may not work for you. In order to understand what YOU need to do you really need to understand what the settings do then apply them to your situation. If this is the video you have watched, sorry...but I have watched it a few times and still learn from it. I have used my redline in Chicagoland and, when I did, I just ran the 2-9 bands to see what was out there. And honestly, I saw a little of everything except X band, although I do know that some out state IL counties still use it. Outside of Chicago itself I'd run at least the 2,5,8 segmentation, Highway mode. Maybe add a band (6, 4, or both). The real performance enhancement comes with the RDR off. I've found personally that a band or 2 added to the segmentation doesn't make a huge diffreence in detection, but may increase false alerts. I put TSR on if K band is just too noisy, if still too chatty put it in Automode too.

Thanks man I will give that a try and learn a little more so far I have the ka seg 2,5,8 thus far but I'll try a few others just seems like with k mode it's constantly going off

I ran wider a few times, running 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 (No 1 or 10) I noticed if I add one or two bands there is no big difference. Even running all of them wasn't bad but I'd get one "brap" alerts every now and then. But, I did get a number of false alerts that fell in 6 that had a large number of hits. This was a concern because I've read a number of posts saying that they run 6 to pick up some legitimate radar. But, I've gone back to the 2,5,8 recommendation and have determined that most (all?) of my falses in that range were dual stalkers that were running two different frequencies which, when used together, were alerting on the two frequencies which fell within Ka segment 5 and producing a third that was located in segment 6. I almost always got them in combination (34.7ish group of hits (seg 5, different 34.7ish group of hits (seg 5), and the 34.8-35.x (seg 6) would pop up in the mix.

To reduce K band chatter, unless in a situation that is away from the city and at night, I run with TSR on. I usually leave it on even in the aforementioned driving situation. I've been able to pick up K band radar with plenty of time to get to PSL or within 5 mph of it. If I am in a heavier traffic situation or in an urban environment, I use TSR and Auto mode. My understanding is that neither TSR nor Auto mode will affect Ka or Laser reception negatively.

That is not going to go away with a RedLine. RedLine is not suitable for city driving. If you can then I recommend returning it and getting a detector with better false alert filtering like the ESCORT iX or Max 360. Either will automatically learn and store fixed location false alerts and will reject most false alerts from other vehicles. RedLine does neither.
