No, nothing recently. I haven't seen any updates for it for more than a year.

Hmm,, I've never done an update.. Unless it was done, when the unit went in for repair (which I would think it was).

I'm wondering if they are going to come out with a firmware to combat the sensors on the Chevys, BMWs, etc.. K band goes off all the time cause of them.
Until a fix is done, I guess I'll just keep hitting the mute (even though auto mute is on).

If you've sent the detector back to Escort, they would certainly have updated it with the most current firmware.

Regarding your question about being able to filter out the false signals from CAS systems in newer vehicles, I have to be frank: I doubt that the SmartRadar will ever be able to filter these out. Escort's Max family (original Max, the Max 2 and the 360) all have digital signal processing capabilities, which can help to filter-out these false signals. The SmartRadar is based on analog technology, and this probably can't be realized on it without reducing the overall sensitivity of the detector itself.

My thoughts only...

I would gladly upgrade, but they don't make a separated head unit (like the SmartRadar), right now.. If they did, I'd buy one in a second.

I like that the head unit is attached to my rear-view mirror, rather than me having to reach on the other side of the mirror to mute or turn off the unit.
(I have a Dashcam on my side of the mirror and EZ-Pass in between both.)

Today, I tried to run Detector Tools with my SmartRadar. It recognizes the SR, and the 'software' button goes green to run an update. I click the button, and it goes through various downloads and updates, and then it shows 'error updating your SmartRadar'. I switch over to 'update all', and it goes through a download and update that counts to 100% over several minutes, showing 'performing update 1 of 4, Step 1 of 1'. After it gets to 100%, it shows the same error 'error updating your SmartRadar'.

Makes me wonder - is SmartRadar even supported anymore?
