Default 8 months and no update to fix issues

We all know that their are noted issues with GPS lockouts and some other tweaks needed yet we are 8 months and counting since the last update. Can we at least get the known issues fixed by now. I mean if you are delaying to tweak your BSM filtering please do a update to fix the known issues then one later for improving the BSM filtering.

Guys -

All of us users are in the same boat. But I'm glad you posted because this forum is probably the easiest way for Escort to get feedback from customers.

I'm sure the firmware updates are on their "to-do" list. But we don't know what else is on the to-do list for the engineering team.

ER will let us know when an update is coming.

Maybe you both will volunteer to test the new firmware before it's released to the general public?

Larry - I just lined up two beta testers for you.

You don't have to thank me now

Dan

They got our money- they don't care about us. Radars are pretty useless these days anyway as IVT filters let too much through. No radar can accomplish this so it's not worth it anymore. Best thing is to use Waze. Google kills yet another technology!!

Seriously, Luv4greenleaves, I think that you might be making some poor assumptions here.

It seems that you are making presumptions, just as any of us can. But Escort is in the business of advancing its technology. And no other company has done more to develop capabilities to reject BSM / CAS false alerts than Escort, without compromising K-band sensitivity. IVT works, yes. But as long as the different car manufacturers use the same K-band frequencies that are used by the police, it's going to be a huge challenge.

It's a lot like someone knocking on one's front door. It might be a friend, or it might be an unwelcomed solicitor. You don't know who it is until you open your door, right?

Speaking for me, if there's a better radar detector solution, go for it. Seriously.

DISCLAIMER: I'm not an Escort employee. I'm just another user on the forum.

Uniden and Radenso have made some pretty interesting strides in filtering, obviously not perfect, but much quieter compared to the 360. Of course you lose arrows, BT control, EL.
I tested a RXP and it was pretty damn quiet, there were still a few falses, but overall it filtered out many of the problem areas and vehicles on my commute.
RDforum has tons of info, this is a new age in technology, CAS/BSM will be a fight for a long while, some detectors can do one thing very well and others not so much.
I've been experimenting outside of my Redline.
V1 I didn't really care for, RXP while quiet didn't have the range I'm used to, right now I'm trying the RPSE.
So far it's pretty quiet compared to the RL which should be expected, still some falses on KA which are supposedly being addressed. The range is pretty good so far, I'm hoping for some encounters on 71 to get a better idea since it's fairly hilly in stretches.
In the end you have to decide what you're wanting out of a detector, I adore my Redline, giving it up will be tough and in the end the RPSE may not perform as good as my RL and Ill just hang onto the RL a little longer dealing with the falses.

To those who think Waze is the answer consider this.

If you use both Waze and an RD, and you see police reported on waze but no radar alert, the police may or may not be there. You won't know until you get there.

However, if you don't see the police reported on waze but your getting solid Ka band hits ahead of you guess what? The cops are there, they just didn't get reported yet on waze.

Waze only works if someone ahead of you reports their location. The RD works all the time so if they have their radar on you'll know.

That said, if your the only car on the highway and you chose to speed in excess of 10mph over the limit you're a dummy because nothing can protect you from that.

OR....... We could be considered as dummies for spending $600+ on a RD and driving the speed limit everywhere you go.

Count me as one of those who is losing interest in having my daily commute loaded with False alerts, due to the increasing number of IVT's on the road. Unfortunately, here in MASS, K-Band is still widely used, both by the MSP and local LEO's. Disabling K is just not an option, but the annoyance of so many frequent false alerts is becoming a real problem.

During the commuting hours, WAZE clearly has lot's of active members and thus, works amazingly well here. I'm oh so close to relegating my 360 to the glove-box until a more effective firmware fix is released. Hopefully sooner, rather than later.

You can drive 10 over and LE isn't generally going to mess with you if that's all you're doing. Unless it's a school zone that is.
