Default Where & how would rear facing devices get installed?

So, the first thing that I am worried is where to install the rear facing laser jammers and the radar module?

I suppose the radar module can get mounted under the bumper cover since it's radio signal.

But the rear facing laser jammers, I'm not sure where I can mount.
Unlike the front side, where there are plenty of ventilation openings in the grill, the rear is a bit concerning.

Would anybody have any practical suggestions?

Help.

Your installer will know. Escort only offers the Max Ci and Mac Ci 360 through trained & certified installers. Escort doesn't offer them directly to customers. To find an authorized installer, click here.

Madkow70 -

I've been wondering about the same thing. I'll be getting a new car in about a year or so and I don't know what car I will get yet. I'm considering an installed solution for the new car.

But in looking at the rear of my current car (Nissan Altima Coupe), I don't see where a read antenna or laser heads would be installed. There are just no openings for something to peek through.

I guess I'm glad that I'm thinking about this now rather than after purchasing a vehicle and having the installer point out some of these issues.

Dan

My previous car had a bracket that attached the jammer across the bottom of the license plate using the bottom license plate bolts. After a while I barely noticed it. I believe it should be close to the license plate sine that is a good target for the laser, especially on a dark car.

You're talking about the old zr4 rear. But, what about the rear tail lights? Big target there. Rear install for ShifterMax a lil tougher but doable.

As far as Max 360 ci goes, you can buy one and diy it, you just won't get three year warranty. If you diy, it's 1 year warranty instead.

This is incorrect. MAX Ci 360 is only available installed from certified installers.

Hello EscortRadar. If I purchase the Max Ci or Max Ci 360 from an online retailer such as one of these, does that mean I also have to drive to their physical location to have it installed?

My understanding is that these new systems (Max Ci or Max Ci 360) can only be purchased thru a certified installer. If other resellers are offering them for direct sale, then they would be operating outside of Escort's purchase requirements (based on my understanding).

Steve -

You'd have to discuss this with a particular installer I would think. I suspect most would not want to do the install in your driveway (for example) as they've got all the proper equipment at their shop.

You wouldn't want the installer charging you by the hour and then have him run out to Sears or Home Depot for some tool he didn't bring when he came to install in your driveway.

It does. The MAX Ci hardware is not available un-installed.
