Default Escort service turnaround time?

I sent my Max 2 back to get serviced and updated to the new mount style. It was received on the 4-13-17. I called yesterday, 4-19-17, to check the status and was told it hadn't been worked on yet. I asked if I would receive a notice with tracking number when it is shipped back and was told no.
The rep told me to call back next Tuesday to check status, 4-25-17.

Is this the standard now that it takes 2 weeks to update an RD and then you don't even provide a notice or tracking number for it's return? I'm suppose to guess about when you shipped it so I can call and get the tracking number?

Is this normal now because if I recall when I first got my Max2 you guys tried to turn the RD around in the same week so we weren't driving unprotected.

As long as we have your email address on file with your service order then you will receive an email from us with the tracking number when your detector has been repaired and is being shipped to you. I am not sure why you were told otherwise. We do have some new people in our service department who may have not been aware of this.

Our service department is very busy right now so it may take a few weeks before we can get your detector back to you.

I'm a bit concerned then about whats being stated on the phone by your reps.
When I ordered my 360 I called first to verify I would receive the newer 85 unit. The rep told me there were no more 79 units and all sold be escort now are 85 units. I recieved a 79 unit.
I called back and was told by this rep that he wasn't sure why the other rep would have told me that. I decided it wasn't important enough for me to go through the hastle of sending it back.

Now I'm hearing the same "not sure why the rep told you that" that I heard before.

It might be a good thing if those working customer service learn how to say "I don't know, let me find out".

Zak -

That's a great point and I hope ER passes it along to the newer people in the CS department.

I know this is no comfort to you now but it is possible to have a great experience with Escorts CS. I've had several. As a matter of fact, I've never had a bad one.

Only once did I have to return a detector to be repaired and that's because I dropped it after taking it out of the car. In the 30+ years I've run Escort detectors, they've stayed on my windshield and I've never had any of them fail. So when I see threads where people say they take their detectors with them when they park at work or home, I cringe because I remember the one time I didn't want to leave the detector in the car. I took it down and then fumbled it on the way into my house. And of course, it wouldn't power up after that.

So now my detectors stay on the WS where they belong.

Hope you get yours back soon. And I hope they give it the Midas touch so that you're glad you sent the sucker in.

Dan
