That is exactly what you are getting, these CAS and BSM safety systems. This problem will only get worse every month as more and more of these new vehicles are sold.
We are at a cross roads in detector use right now. By this I mean at this point having an Escort detector that has the new IVT filtering is a must. It cuts out probably 80-90% of these systems and can be updated by the user at home when ever Escort makes a change. The X70 does not have the IVT filter.
In my opinion any model detector that does not have the IVT filter is useless on the road today. Your only hope is to run in auto mode with TSR on and hope it can cut down some on these false alerts.

If you bought direct from Escort and are still in your 30 day trial you might strongly consider returning it and upgrading to the new IX or a Max detector.

Your settings are perfect...your RD does not have any filters for BSM though. I had a Passport (basically identical to yours) - upgraded to the 360 with filters and MUCH better now.

Thanks for the reply. Any detectors that can filter these BSMs without spending $500? Thanks

You can consider getting a Max II @ $449. Escort has discontinued them, but they can still be found. Just be sure to confirm that your purchasing it from an authorized reseller.

Getting an Escort detector with IVT comes with a higher price than those that don't.

One thing you are missing- run in AUTO mode. This helps.

Escort has discontinued them
TBNTX - where did you see this? Was it an official announcement? I don't see anything under the Escort Announcements section of the forum.

I *knew* there had to be a reason why the dealers were discounting the Max II so heavily.....

Escort usually doesn't announce EOL / discontinued products. However, the Max II is no longer offered on Escort's website.

TBNTX -

Thank you for the reply.

I didn't know Escort didn't officially announce discontinuations. But you are correct (as you usually are) about it not being on the web site anymore.

Sad in a way. I've been very happy with my Max II over the past couple of months and I'm sure continuing sales would have been just fine. It's a great unit. But I realize I'm not the best "yardstick" to go by having come from the 8500 x50 (not counting a brief visit to the iX rest stop) which really has alert problems in today's environment.

So I guess we can all wonder what's next? The only detector with the digital architecture now is the Max 360. Seems like there's a void to fill for a digital architecture single antenna solution. I hope Escort fills that hole soon. Maybe with a digital RedLine as I've seen mentioned/suggested here a few times recently.

Again, thanks. And thank you for all you do for this forum. Larry owes you a steak dinner

Dan

I would agree with you Dan, it seems strange that the Max and Max II are gone from the line up. Kinda leaves a void now with the IX and 360 being the only "newest" detectors. Only thing I can figure is they have several new things in the works for this year. I would hope an updated Redline, Solo, and then maybe a replacement to the Max II. Then again maybe they are cutting back on the number of models to offer.
