Angry Redline EX - WHERE IS THE OWNERS MANUAL?

It has been over 2 years since the Redline EX was launched and the only thing available is the quick reference guide. Even the newer 360C has an owners manual. Has escort just given up on this detector and moved on? I have owned 2 8500s, 1 9500IX and now this Redline EX. What a disappointment. I purchased this mainly to filter out the blind spot monitoring of other cars. It is always going off around Hondas and Acuras. Will there ever be a new firmware update to fix this?

I asked about it when it was first released and was told by some that the QuickStart guide was sufficient for my needs. NOT. Still waiting...

It will never block falses like Escort's digital detectors because the EX is analog. No matter how many updates they put out, it will alert to them, unless they want to seriously desensitize K-band, which they wont do. Running in Auto mode will reduce some of them, but the only way to get rid of them in disable K-Band, but only if you're certain there aren't any cops in your area that use K-band for speed enforcement.

Run you Redline EX in Auto Mode.... Also make sure TSR in set to ON position.

THe next few things I will mention will significantly help, BUT you must assume a little risk when doing them.

1. Turn K band off and then enable segments 2 and 3 only.

2. Turn sensitivity to AutoLoK. This will drastically affect the sensitivitly on your warning Range though.

Just curious why you recommend enabling K band segmentation to just band 2,3? Source please?

Larry, based on your response, are we to assume that no owners manual will ever be provided? I think the OP asked a legitimate question. Answering it with another question doesn't really seem to help.

K band is centered at 24.150 GHz. He is recommending to disable the outer frequency ranges. Some do this to reduce K band false alerts.
NOTE that there is a risk of missing police radar by doing this.

A full manual may be available online for RedLine EX later this year. In the meantime, the forum is here to answer questions about our products. Please create a new thread with your question.
