Using GPS Locks is like taking your Blood Pressure or Cholesterol Pill. Sure there are some possible side effects and slight risk involved, but the benefits they provide far outweigh any small risk or side effect. Not taking the very small risk of taking the meds could result in a big risk later. Like..... A road side chat

My Original Max 360c was locking out real police K-band on the first encounter (several stationary and several moving) using the Auto Learn. These lockouts were not in a K-band alarm or K-band door opener areas. I never had that problem with my iX. Escort did a warranty exchange on my original unit. I donít use Auto Learn any more due to my original 360c locking out real K-band police radar on multiple occasions on the first encounter . When I had my iX, it did lock out real K-band police radar in the area of a prior k-band locked out signals on several occasions. I have another brand of detector with manual lockouts that has also locked out real police radar in prior locked out K-band door opener areas. I personally donít trust the auto lockouts or manual lockouts. I would rather manually lock out the k-band signals that I choose to which are very few as the local police where I live still use K-band a lot. Other than two lock ups, my replacement 360c seems to be working fine.

Your 360c should not be locking up at all. Make sure you are on the most recent firmware. The lockup issue was fixed I think 2 or 3 versions ago.

I had a K-band lock up in early March of 2019 on firmware version 1.8 which was supposed to have solved that issue. I had my 360c about three weeks when that occurred. This is the unit that was locking out real police K-band in the first encounter with the Auto Learn in non K-band alarm and door opener areas. Escort did a warranty exchange for me, and my replacement unit (which had a scratch on the rear antenna when I received it, maybe they sent me a refurbished unit) locked up on K-band on me the day I received it under firmware 1.5. I went ahead and upgraded to firmware 1.8. About a week later in late March of 2019 under firmware 1.8, I had a ďsilentĒ lock up when I received a Check FR or Reload FR message on my 360c. The detector beeped, I saw the firmware message on the screen, and it went back to Highway on the screen after maybe 3 or 4 seconds. My 360c would not pick up any radar for two power cycles. It started working again properly within a day. Escort sent me a shipping label to send the replacement unit back, but I never sent it back as I just monitored the detector closely, and it has been working properly since I had the last ďsilentĒ lock up in late March of this year.

Thev vast majority of autolearn users NEVER experience this after years of use. I have a hard time believing you had this happen the first time you used it. If this is true you need to drop what your doing right now and go buy a power ball ticket.
You might have misinterpreted what the detector was telling you, you have a setting wrong,
Or it's broken or malfunctioning and nedds a software update. Sorry but I'm just not buying it.

@Butcher318, You donít have to believe me, but it did happen with my first 360c. I didnít misinterpret the grayed out display with no audible warning with a real police officer with real police K-band in different areas I am very familiar with that has no other K-band alarms or door openers. What incorrect settings would have caused this? I had visuals on the officers who were using C/O K-band. This happened over a 3 week period. I have been using radar detectors for 40 years, and I had an Escort iX since October of 2016 which I sold prior to ordering my 360c, so I am familiar with how the Auto learn works. I had my new first 360c lock out real police K-band on 4 occasions on the first encounter in different areas that were not already locked out. I also had my first unit experience the K-band lock up on firmware 1.8 which wasnít supposed to happen either because firmware 1.8 was supposed to solve that. I sent my documentation in to Escort in the warranty exchange. My first unit was shipped with firmware 1.5 in February of 2019, and I upgraded the firmware 1.8 the next day. The Escort customer service has been great, and they offered me a warranty exchange or my money back. I chose the warranty exchange because I like the design of the Max 360c, and I wanted to have arrows again. I owned many different arrow detectors of the same brand of the original brand that introduced arrows to radar detectors in the early 1990ís over a 23 year period, and I prefer the design and features of the Max 360c as an all in one unit plus I bought it for the reported very good BSM filtering. While my replacement warranty exchange unit did have two significant issues in the first week or so, I havenít had any issues with it since late March, and I really like this detector a lot.

I will agree with you that the issues that I experienced with my first Max 360c with Auto learn were not normal, and it may have been a broken or malfunctioning unit, and I sent it in for a warranty exchange. I shared my experience not to bash Escort, but to share my experience with others in case it happens to them. Escort customer service has been great and helpful with the issues I experienced early on.

I donít spend much time on this forum, and I was interested in the reported new firmware 1.9 (which was referenced on another forum) for the 360c and if there was any information on firmware 1.9, and I came across this thread.

@Butcher318, You are entitled to believe what you want. My feelings are not hurt that you are implying that I am a liar. My statements that I made regarding my experience with the Max 360c are true.

If you could get some videos of your experiences to show us we might be able to help even more.

I'm sorry, but on what grounds are you speaking for vast majority of users? This forum has a bad vibe with few of you first blaming the user for the issues first and secondly oh it might be broken. (really, what settings he could've mess up or what's there to misinterpret in detector messages?). Just because you didn't have problems with it it doesn't mean they don't happen to other people living in other parts of the country.
Forums for specific products are here to exchange user experience and try helping them with issues, not for replies like:"this product isn't for you" or "you're using it wrong". Even if you use second example, explain how to use it right.
Never before have I experienced something like this.
