They show up on eBay from time to time. One sold in August, and another just a couple of weeks ago bundled with an 8500.

I wouldn't pay more than about 50 bucks for one since they are no longer supported, except for Defender updates. Get a Cheetah C50 for 99 bucks if you're really needing Redlight camera detection. It's by far the best out there. Never loses sat signal either!

I like the idea of knowing where the RL and speed cameras are but I'm more interested in interfacing it with my redline to make it behave a little bit better. I know it won't turn it in to a long range IX but I'm sure it will help.

I run an SC55 on top of the Redline and its a nice unit, BUT the ONLY thing it adds is the RLCs and the cruise alert where you can set a predetermined speed at which it won't alert and then release it above that speed (like an Auto Mute). One big problem is, it the satellite acquisition is poor and sometimes it can take hours before it gets a satellite!!

Bels, send that puppy in for service. I have that setup for years and never had a GPS problem. Send it in man, you know its worth keeping. The SC55 is the only reason I bought the Redline. If you don't like it I know you could sell it in no time.

I'd be more than happy to give it a new home.

Its been in twice, most recently I had to replace the speaker (same as Redline's). The acquisition on the SC55 is NO where near as good as the Cheetah C50 which is epitome of RLC detectors for $99 bucks. I can't believe that someone paid $125 + shipping for one a month ago on Fleabay, BUT hey, its NOT my money!! You could get a C50 with LIFETIME updates for that amount. ONLY difference is the Automute with Cruise Alert that makes it a great companion to the Redline. Some guy in RUS had a few left about 6 months ago, BUT he was asking big $$ for it. Even BRD has no access to them. If I see one, I 'll flash an alert.......

Yes I believe you turned me onto it. I wish Cheetah still made the model that could mute marked settings. I think it was the C100.

That's been gone about 2 years, but the C50 is alive and well. Add lifetime Trinity 2.0 database and it's a great unit. So simple, but so good! If you're running a RL BUT WANT THE CAMERA ability of the Max, the C50 is a great alternative!
