Register and download Detector Tools at https://www.escortradar.com/productregistration/

Install Detector Tools on your computer.

Do not connect to 12Vdc power when updating.
Connect your detector to your PC or Mac using a USB A to mini B data cable (not included) and update it using Escort Detector Tools. Not all USB A to mini b cables are data cables, some only are power only cables.

Click on the large top green "Merge your data (Truelock & Marked locations) with the latest Escort database" icon.

There is an issue with the camera database on the IX, thinking it has to do with manually marked locations, IIRC:

Is clear "Defender" all that is necessary, and existing Marks & Lockouts can be retained, or is a Format for all locations necessary?

1 Marked
2 Lockouts
3 Defender
4 Format
Until we have a firmware fix, to fix this use the detector's Clear Locations setting to clear its locations then merge the database using Detector Tools.
Formatting definitely works. Clearing only Defender may not work. We are looking into it.

Ideally I recommend not updating Defender until we have this resolved.

If you clear the detector's lockouts then it should store this false like it is supposed to. This will clear all of your lockouts. You can do this through the detector's preferences menu which is detailed in the quick reference guide under the Clear Locations section.

Be aware that you will need a Defender subscription in order to install the latest Defender database. The Detector Tools software will notify you if your Defender subscription has expired. Subscriptions are available from our website here. After you purchase a subscription, we send you an activation code which you enter here, along with your detector's serial number.

If you cleared all of the locations in your ESCORT iX, then the issue that flylow mentioned should not affect you.
