There probably is a back-door way to get to some sort of advanced Hotspot settings, but nothing easily accessible by the driver/owner. There is a way to change the SSID, but only partially as the hotspot is required to be formatted as "DIRECT-lf-{name}" there the only part you can supply/change is the "name" part. I have tried changing the name to something short to minimize the name's length.

Back when Escort was trying to help diagnose the issue, they changed their test hotspot's SSID to exactly match mine, including the "DIRECT-lf-" part and they had no issue connecting, so it's probably something other than the formatting of the SSID.

Anyway, I have even gone so far as to install a WiFi repeater in the car; hoping that the repeat will connect to the hotspot and then allow more customization options for it's broadcasting WiFi. It connected to the car fine and got a valid IP (something the 360c never did), and then I had that repeater set up with an open connection (no security at all) but the 360c still didn't get a valid IP through it. My phone, table, Nintendo 3DS and several other devices worked through this repeater setup just as well as they did directly to the car's hotspot.

In short, I really have tried a lot of things to figure this out, but without further assistance from Escort, I fear that the issue will not be resolved and my 360c will still only work via BT in my car.

I'm am very saddened by Escort's lack of concern in helping resolve this issue and if there were another brand's option for similar (yet working) functionality, I would switch.

Install the latest Escort Live app for Android, v3.1.11, run the app, then connect to your detector. After it shows the colored speed limit sign, stop the app and try Wi-Fi again. Some have reported the latest Android app solved this issue.

What about those of us with an iOS device (not Android)? I daily connect the EL app for iOS via BT to my 360c because the 360c doesn't connect to my car's WiFi hotspot.

gadgeTT, yours is showing an invalid IP correct? If so, that is a symptom of a different issue.

If you have not already, try performing an "Update All" using Detector Tools Pro and try connecting your detector to your car's Wi-Fi again. Let me know what you find.

Per request, I have connected my 360c to the Detector Tools Pro app on my Windows machine and chose to "Update All" even though it complained that I was already running the current firmware. The update applied successfully and is still reporting at v1.9.

I then plugged it back in to my car, connected my iPhone to my car's hotspot and attempted to connect the 360c to the same hotspot. It connected (white PSL area) yet still reported an SSID of an untypable series of vertical bars with two dots over them (like bars with the "umlaut" character) and an IP address of "239.239.239.239". The car's list of devices connected to its hotspot reports the 360c as device name "*". My iPhone is also connected and is reported properly in the list and the phone has full connectivity through the hotspot.

So in short - no luck - the exact same issue and symptoms that I reported about 9 months ago.
