Default Problem maintaining Speed Limit Data

Speed Limit Data will always go to "--" unless I have the EL App open and active on my phone. If I set my phone down and the display goes to sleep, the Speed Limit Data goes away, even though the EL app is still running. I have to repeatedly turn my phone back on to keep the Speed Limit Data active. Any suggestions?

*Pixel 2 XL: Android Pie OS
*Max360C updated to latest Firmware and Database
*I have enabled Background Data, Unrestricted Data Usage, and enabled all Permissions.
*Battery Optimization Off for the EL App
*Data Saver is OFF

You've done everything I could think of doing; I have the same phone.

@ SmoovC, is yours working properly? Speed Limit Data continues to work whether your phone is awake/asleep.

Anyone else having this issue?

I have a little different use application than you; I am using an in-car hotspot and not using EL or the phone for data.

It is due to battery optimization changes in the latest Android OS. GPS and BT services are disabled when the app is backgrounded. We are looking into circumventing this in future versions of Escort Live.

See this discussion from the Escort Live Android section of the forum for more information
