Default M1 Windshield Mounting

I am contemplating an M1 for my iXc. The iXc is mounted as low as possible at the bottom of the windshield. Would the RD mounting have to move higher to accommodate the M1? Pictures I have seen suggest that when installed, the bottom plane of the M1 is higher up than that of the RD. Of course, windshield rake also comes into play in my case, but I think that will work for me. Thanks folks - I'll probably just give it a shot.

Hi Darkmann -

The M1 package includes an offset pivotable arm. If you download the owner’s manual, it will include illustrated parts, including the mounting arm that I mentioned.

You can orient the arm so that it positions the M1 in your position of choice.

Best wishes,
TBNTX

Mine is mounted at the bottom of my windshield without any issues or special considerations.

Default Couple of M1 Questions

Mine came in yesterday. Mounting was pretty much straightforward and the unit is working. Nighttime video is quite sharp. I do have a couple of questions:

1 - After about 1 Hr of driving, the green steady lamp started blinking. It's been blinking since. Not red/green, only the green. I have not checked the SD card status yet - maybe it's full

2 - When the flashing videocam on the phone is pressed, the red recording text on the phone goes away. However, the unit still streams live video. In this state, the unit is not storing data, though it's streaming, right?

1 - M1 should normally flash green only. When it flashes green and red, it is saving an emergency recording. If you did not press the record button on M1, the G-sensor tripped the recording. if this happens ofte, you can use the M1 app to adjust the G-sensor sensitivity level from 1 to 3. The greater the number, the greater the impact needed to trigger it to save an emergency recording.

FYI: M1 uses loop recording preventing it from getting full. The SD card will only get full if you save/lock enough emergency recordings to fill it (which would be a LOT of video files).

2 - Correct. In this mode it is not recording to the SD Card but it is streaming video to your smartphone via Wi-Fi.

Thanks. I feel stupid to have asked the first question. I read the manual but must have just glossed the paragraph which clearly mentioned that normal = blinking green. I have since self readjusted and all is OK.
