I have a 79 ser# unit. last time, about a year ago after updating I had no BT and had to send it in to repair. I am afraid to mess with it now unless this issue has been addressed.

I ran into a similar, quite vexing problem today and am sharing just in case it helps someone but I am not entirely sure what happened so would appreciate feedback if anyone else runs across this. I have an '85' unit - I updated firmware via windows (virtual machine running on my MAC) yesterday, and iPhone running 12.last latest release # and BT was working no problem. Then discovered tools had been released for MAC, installed that and plugged in detector just to see how it worked. Nothing happened. Today, I updated my phone to IOS 13.1, jumped in the car, BT said it was connected but nothing responded on phone. un-installed escort app and reinstalled with no change. deleted MAX from list of BT devices (which said connected but app said NO DETECTOR FOUND.). After deleting from the list the detector never appeared again. So, I tried to re-flash the detector using the MAC software which was now working, and it said failed. after 3 attempts it finally succeeded but still nothing in the IOS BT menu. Went back into the app and THIS time the detector showed up and asked if I wanted to connect, and it worked. Something - I suspect in IOS 13.1 BT Security has changed to where it won't pair via IOS, but apparently after a few tries the app will find it and actually let it pair. Curious if anyone else runs across this, and if it was solved in a similar way, or if anyone has any greater insight as to what is happening, assuming my experience wasn't just a fluke. Cheers.

I'm running into a similar issue where I got a new iphone and cannot get it to pair in iOS 13. Have tried deleting app, rebooting, reloading app, etc to no avail.

Either hold down Mark & Mute while powering it on or Plug it into Detector Tools Pro and check under Device Tab to see About Your Device and compare the firmware readout to the above versions listed for your serial number.

While in your vehicle to view the software (firmware) revision and serial number press and hold down both the MRK and MUTE buttons (remember "M & M") while powering on the detector.
