So long as you don't encounter the stalker xlr or dragon eye and a few other variable pulse rate guns. Where are you located?

It works against many of the older guns currently in use, but it wouldn't be a good long term choice.

It's based on the Laser Interceptor and the main distributor has stopped selling here in the States because the company is unable to create updates for some of the newer guns that are coming out. Escort bought out LI's, rebranded them, and now we have LSPs.

So given that LI has stopped updating their unit, I wouldn't hold your breath for LSP updates moving forward.. especially considering there's updates for the LI that still haven't come out for the LSP to this day. Escort hasn't released a single update for the LSP, ever. Keeping a jammer updated is absolutely vital and that doesn't seem to be Escort's focus with this jammer.

Considering all the costs and hassle for installation, cables you'll need to run, and even that you may need to potentially cut holes in your interior and in your grill for installing the product, it may be a good idea to consider all the different options and find something that can jam all the guns currently out there and that also continues to be updated as new threats are discovered.

The LSP isn't a bad unit by any means. It's based on what was for many years the very best jammer on the market. It's just not necessarily the best option in terms of long term, moving forward.

If you drive in FL and GA, I STRONGLY recommend you look at the ALP's. This isn't the appropriate forum to discuss them in detail since it's Escort's house, but suffice it to say, there's guns down there that will chew through the LSP's like nobody's business.

Regarding updates, of course they'll say that. I'll sure they're "looking into it" and whatnot, but it may be a good idea to look at the history of both the LI's, as well as Escort's track record for providing updates for their product lines including the LSP, Max/Max2, Escort Live, etc. Yes they do update their products, but it leaves much to be desired. There's much to be said for the hardware platform itself and what it can handle moving forward...

Regarding the LSP's specifically, there's still guns the LI can now jam that they haven't provided the equivalent updates for for Escort yet so the LSP's will not provide you with full protection and, well, it's wise to consider all your options.

Regarding VEIL, I'm having a hard time understand why folks are still looking into it despite every independent test showing it has almost no improvement to jamming performance against even previous generation guns.
