Well Laser is a form of Radar usually being shot at you from a handheld gun by the Leo, unless you have laser sifters tho if you are speeding and they get you with laser your more then likely getting the ticket, its a very thin beam of radar unlike k or ka band, this is a explanation of pop detection as per Vortex Radar on his site:
POP radar is a type of radar specifically designed to defeat radar detectors. Itís a very very short burst of radar (16ms or 67ms) thatís designed to be just long enough to register a vehicleís speed but too short for most radar detectors to pick up on. Sounds pretty scary, but it has some big problems too and, because of this, it really isnít in use and itís generally recommended to turn POP detection off on your radar detector altogether.
Hope this explains things for you.

Actually laser and radar are two completely different animals. Radar is electronic radio waves, laser is light. So a laser beam has no radar signal in it at all, just highly focused light.

Johnny i would get into your settings and turn POP off, only a very small number of radar guns in the country have the POP feature. You will get many false POP alerts with it on. You might also check out some youtube videos as well some radar detector sites. Do a search for vortex radar.

Since laser is just light cell ohone screens, dash screens, led tail lights, and sensets at certain times can all cause a false laser alert. Do some research on laser as well, its very lethal and a detector alone will not protect you.

Adding to this, here's a sticky post that helps to explain the differences between laser and radar.

Unless the driver is lucky enough to get some laser "scatter" on his detector (which is rare), drivers who get a warning should realize that their speed has just been captured by the LEO. A warning isn't sufficient. Active measures must be employed to offer any real protection.

I highly recommend leaving your MAX 360c in its factory default Bands settings which has POP detection off. You will receive POP false alerts with it enabled.

POP mode radar (not to be confused with instant-on radar) is very rarely used and cannot be used to issue a citation. They must switch to normal, easily detected, radar in order to issue a citation.
