Exclamation Bluetooth connection issue with Android 8

There are known bluetooth connection issues with BLE-equipped Escort Live devices and Android 8.x. We have an app update coming soon which should resolve these bluetooth connection issues.

The fix will be Escort Live handling bluetooth pairing for Escort devices. After the app update you will pair the detector through Escort Live, not Android.

Any update on this? Just got my Max360c and trying to pair it with my Google Pixel which is running Android 8.1.0 and was unable to successfully connect (it shows as paired, but doesn't actually connect). So I came here looking for answers and saw this post from 4 weeks ago. Do you guys give credit for time lost on the app due to connectivity issues? Seems like the app is worthless until I can get it connected.

The app update will be at least another week away.

Try this. Force close Escort Live (swipe close it) and also make sure that your Android Bluetooth Device Manager is closed (this is the settings menu where you paired the MAX 360c). Now open Escort Live then press the bluetooth icon in the top right of the screen and see if your MAX 360c is listed in the menu. If so, select it. If it is not shown then I cannot think of anything else for you to try. The upcoming app update should resolve it.

Note that to date nobody with an Escort Live ready device has had their premium Escort Live subscription expire. We have continually extended them every year.

Tried that and even though the device is added and paired through Android manager, the only device that shows up is my other vehicle that I am not in currently (I don't have my Bluetooth paired to this car). Thanks for trying though 🙂. Guess I'll just have to wait for the update and hope that solves it.

Thumbs down Escort Live for Android

I have my Escort iX for almost 4 months now along with Escort Live for my
Android Galaxy S8. I have been told for as long as I own the ix that there is a software problem for Androids and a fix is forthcoming. It would take a shorter time to start from scratch and build it again. Why the wait?

Thumbs down

so the below post was made on June 13th saying that a forthcoming release to fix the problems with Android and the S 8's is on the way.

it is now July 21st and we still have no new release I've spoken to several Representatives one which happened to be very very rude and snotty with me one which happen to be very nice told me that affects was coming out in about a week that was over 4 weeks ago where is the fix where is the update.

I'm giving this one more week if I don't see the update for Android S8 I'm going to switch to another brand I've been with this company for many many years even when I was selling them at Circuit City I'm done dealing with this problem I'm done dealing with the company for their inability to address issues with their software that is completely outdated. having a high-end radar detector and software that doesn't work with it doesn't do me any good especially since I've already paid for the service and I can't use that service that I paid for again I'm done with this fix it or we leave.

If you have an Escort Live-ready detector then the premium subscription to Escort Live was included when you registered the detector.

Note that this is an issue introduced with Android 8 (Oreo). Some have reported that there's started working again after Android updated the OS. Our solution is to implement our own bluetooth device manager which involves considerable work but should provide a complete solution going forward. Work on this continues.

OK that's great! Now how about updating to the latest SDK as well? Seeing as it was produced with SDK 18 for Android 4. So rather than blame the devices we own how about a fix for the useless app and expensive hardware we've purchased.

I am sick and tired of calling and getting snotty attitudes and the run around about the issues, and no I was not conveying the same attitude your staff was on the customer service line. Out of ALL of them only 1 was nice enough to listen and advise that you were supposedly working on a new release of the app. Just how long do we have to wait to be able to use our devices to there FULL capabilities? I am tired, as well as others I am sure, hearing that your working on it. This has gone on FAR too long to not be fixed by now knowing that the S8 and S8+ have been out with Oreo since April 21, 2017.

They have been trying for months to fix this Android Galaxy S8 problem. Why is it taking so long?
