Default Ka False Alerts??

I commonly get what appears to be false alerts in parking lots like Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart.

It is 2 quick tones with 5-6 bars lit, then decays 1 bar per second. Anyone else get these? I thought automatic doors operated on X and K.

I scan the lot (often almost completely empty) and find no indicators of the source.

Can anyone shed light on this?

The detector Ka alerting to K sources is a sign that there may be an issue with the detector.

If this is happening to other known K band sources, then I would have the detector looked at. To set this up, call us at the number in my signature.

If it is Ka alerting only in particular areas, then there may be an actual Ka emitter (in other words it is performing as it should).
