Default Max360's Meter and Arrow modes

Simple meter mode is the same as Max and Max2 displaying only "Caution" and "Slow Down" images on the display.

Standard meter mode is the same as Max and Max2, a single standard bar graph display.

Standard FR1

The default Standard FR1 option provides information on both the type and direction of the primary threat. If multiple signals are present ESCORT Max 360 will determine which threat is the most important to display. In this mode, the display shows both the band of the primary alert as well as a front and/or rear bar graph of the signal’s strength, indicating the direction of the threat.

Standard FR2

The Standard FR2 option can provide information on the type and direction of up to two threats. ESCORT Max 360 will determine which threats are the most important to display. In this mode, the display shows the bands of threats as well as front and/or rear bar graphs indicating their direction.

Spec FR1

The Spec FR1 option is an advanced display for experienced detector users. In this mode, ESCORT Max 360 will display the type and direction of the primary threat (with front and/or rear bar graphs of signal strength), as well as the actual numeric radar frequency being received.

Spec FR2

The Spec FR2 option is also an advanced display for experienced detector users. In this mode, ESCORT Max 360 will display the type and direction of up to two threats (with front and/or rear bar graphs of signal strength), as well as the actual numeric frequency for the primary threat.

Expert FR

ESCORT’s exclusive Expert FR option is also designed for the advanced detector user. In this mode, ESCORT Max 360 simultaneously tracks up to four radar signals. It shows each band, along with front and/or rear bar graphs of signal strength. In the image above, a Ka band, K band and two X bands are being detected with the greyed out X band being a locked out false. ExpertFR can help you spot a change in your normal driving environment (e.g., a traffic radar unit being operated in an area where there are normally other signals present).

Default Arrow modes

ESCORT Max 360 offers three arrow modes for threat-direction reporting. The arrow modes operate independently of the selected meter mode. Below are descriptions of the arrow modes along with pictured examples using various meter modes.

Standard FR1 Meter mode, Single Arrow mode

In Single arrow mode, arrows are displayed indicating only the direction of the primary threat. All arrows use your selected display color.

Standard FR2 Meter mode, Multiple Arrow mode

In Multiple arrow mode, threat-direction arrows are displayed for multiple threats. When multiple threats are displayed then the direction arrow of the primary threat will blink. The front and side arrows will match your selected display color while the rear arrow will be the opposite color. If your display color is blue or green then the rear arrow will be red. If your display color is red or amber then the rear arrow will be green. In the example shown in the picture above, the blue top arrow is blinking because it is the primary threat.

Standard FR2 Meter mode*, Band Arrow mode

In Band arrow mode, the threat-direction arrows are color-coded for the band that is being detected. When multiple threats are displayed then the direction arrow of the primary threat will blink. In the example shown in the picture above the top red arrow, indicating a Ka threat is ahead, is blinking because it is the primary threat.

X band = green
K band = blue
Ka band/Laser = red

* When using Band arrow mode with Standard FR2 and Spec FR2 meter modes the rear bar graph will use the selected display color.

Thanks! This explanation makes more sense compared to the marketing materials with all the arrows lit up. The information-richness of the display without connecting any smartphones / dongles is fantastic! The only feedback I would have is, I wish the colors of the screen more agreed with the colors of the arrow or maybe they do?

Very nice. A lot more informative than V1 display.

They do. They match your display color unless you use "band" arrow mode.

Thanks you're right. It took me two reads to fully understand! This is possibly the most informative radar detector display on the market. Really great to see the OLED screen being used to greater potential.

Default Clarification

This can be a little overwhelming at first glance so let me try to simplify it.

If you like your display and all of the arrows to be the same color then simply leave it in factory default meter and arrow modes, Standard FR1 and Single respectively. Simply changing the display color will also change the arrows color.

If you like the display style where the rear bar graph is red and you want the arrows color to match this then select "multiple" arrow mode.

Is the number "2" displayed the number of different bands (or signals on the same band) being picked up simultaneously?

You should have used 33,676 as the reference in the pics since that's what we will see the most.

The display is not worth the difference in price. What does this unit do to alleviate the problems in the Max2.

I realize this false k/Ka band thing effects everyone but if this issue isn't dealt with it makes no sense to make another RD that will just experience the same problems.

Please give us details on what makes this better and if it is, why hasn't it been added to the max and max2 line yet?

Yes, I was wondering the same thing. Is the #2 in the display representative of the number of threats?
