I have been experiencing the same thing with mine. I just drove 2200 miles with no problems. Now, it seems like I get random Kbands (4bars) and they are stuck to the detector. Only way I can clear it is pulling the power and plugging it back in. It stays clear for a few minutes and pops up again. I will try a factory reset on it tonight on my way home from work.

Any help would be appreciated!

Mine locked up again, once over the holiday weekend, stuck on 4-bars on K. It returned to normal after I cycled power. Thank goodness these are easily detectable lockups- simply nuisances, in my opinion. But it's good practice to report.

Oh goodness.... You're kidding right?

I thought this was fixed a long time ago!

Are you sure you have the latest version that has the fix on it?

I don’t have the unit at the moment. I’ll check the software version and report next week.

Let us know. I think you probably just need to do the update that will fix this issue. But do let us know. Thank you

UPDATE
OK, I missed my "next week" deadline, but here we go.

Firmware is the latest.

This past Saturday on my way to DC, the strangest of lockups happened. The first one was the typical K lockup. I revived the unit by recycling power. Shortly after that, Ka started bugging out with sporadic short bursts (as in feeling LEO at a long distance), followed by full bursts (as in LEO is in your face) - I didn't understand the full blast since nothing like LEO was anywhere around me. The unit continued this annoying response for, maybe, 2 miles, then at a known LEO spot (that darn Ford Explorer was there), the unit went on full blast - so the unit somehow managed to do something to alert me. However, the unit then stayed on full blast on Ka (unmuted, I believe) for the next few miles - I didn't cycle power just so I could figure out what was going on. After approximately 3 miles, I cycled power and all is fine, to date.

I can probably send the unit in for fixing, but at this point, given the annoying rattling mount system and the fact that my iXc filters just as good as the Max II, I am leaning towards trading in the Max II for a iXc.

Sorry to hear about the problem.

If the analog iXc filters as good as the all digital MAX II something is amiss with the MAX II. The only thing I can think of is to perform an Update All Software from DT if you have not already done so (and do not update the database at the same time) replug it into 12 volts to let the update all software complete its install. It can report that it has the current firmware even if it was not installed properly. This happened to me on an original MAX when I updated the software solely using the green update software button as opposed to the update all software. Mine read the correct software version but it performed erratically thereafter.

Also, if you have a Defender subscription you could format the database and reload Defender in its entirety.

After that , I've got nothing . . .

Yep, my iXc are that good - I have a couple. At one point, I had a couple of Max II also. Then I bought my first iXc. The iXc was so good that I traded in one Max II. The Max II is really good - but so is the iXc without the rattling the Max II exhibits. Thanks for the tips. I'll do the firmware update as you advise and hope.

The iXc is a phenomenal detector with MAX level of filtering. Range performance is much better than the original 9500i/iX (our most popular detectors ever).
