Default EL Premium Takes Money, but Doesn't Renew

Android model SM-G935V version 7 Kernel 3.18.31

EL indicated that my premium subscription expired. I checked my records and they noted that it had been a year. From the app version 2.1.9.4 I renewed. The app told me that it successfully renewed. I didn't think anything of it. Then a few days go by and I noticed that I wasn't seeing any alerts on the map. I checked the subscription status on the app and it told me that my subscription had expired and proceeded to present me with the renewal screen it had previously. I checked my PayPal account and the $49.99 charged for Escort Live had been completed. Yet, EL seems to think that it needs renewing. I uninstalled the app, restarted the phone, and reinstalled the app. The app still says that my subscription expired and asks to me renew. Hello??? Anybody home at Escort? EL has too many bugs.

Escort hasn't charged Escort Live-ready detector or their Escort Live Smartcord customers for updates so far. Only those without an Escort Live-ready detector or their Escort Live Smartcord need to pay for Live if they want the premium version.

Signing out of the app then signing back in worked for me when mine showed as expired. If that doesn't work call Escort Radar customer service, available from 9am-5:30pm Eastern Time Mon-Fri at 1-800-543-1608

I'm wondering if Google will refund your money.

They continue to extend the subscriptions. I've had a free premium service account since 2011, and others will vouch that they're not paying a fee after one year, either. Presently, mine says it won't expire until 2019.

This is the premium service I am referring to, not an update. And mine does show an expiration that coincides with the year mark of the last premium payment that I made.

Red face Resolved

I contacted Escort support and they resolved the issue with the app's expiration date I now expire in 2021. I also contacted Google via web support and am awaiting resolution. Even though the app asks for money for a premium subscription, it is not required for EL users to receive premium content as others have previously stated above. According to Escort support, Google is aware of the issue and is very accommodating when Escort customers ask for refunds. I guess the app should stop asking for money if it isn't required , lol!!!

Default More Confusion

Ok so I contacted Google as I indicated above. But Google is telling me that they can't give me a refund because my request doesn't meet their policies, blah, blah, blah. I then called Escort back and this time a different customer service rep told me that the refund is between you and Google. However, the premium Escort Live content is only free for the first year after you buy your detector. You will then need to pay the $49.99 on the Play Store annually after that. So my deduction here is that you could ask three different people at Escort about how the premium subscription works and the payment of said subscription and you'll get three different answers. This representative went to his supervisor and confirmed that the premium content is not free after the first year of a detector purchase. Unless, you were one of the customers that were having their subscriptions extended every year while the app was in development. In the end, it looks Google is going to keep my money, but my premium subscription works and will work until 2021. Everybody wins. LOL!!! However, don't ask me how the premium subscription works, because I have yet to get the same answer twice.

My understanding is that so far Live subscriptions have been extended for all that have purchased a Live cord or a detector with builtin Bluetooth.

I didn't buy a Live until several years after they were being sold and my subscription has always been extended.
