Did you power cycle the detector prior to attempting to update the database? After you upgrade the firmware, you get a pop-up stating to power cycle the detector after installing any updates. If you don't do that, the database will fail to update.

Thanks. I only did safety remove the hardware after the firmware upgrade. Try it again. It works.

Every time I start Escort Tools, it updates the firmware again. So it is impossible to power cycle. It does not give me a popup either.

Then I get various errors: Merging has failed; unable to clear locations; unknown errors. 9500ix

Hi Jarome -

Asking these questions:
  1. Which OS platform are you using (meaning Windows or macOS)?
  2. Which OS version are you using?
  3. What version of Detector Tools are you using?

Answers to these questions will be helpful.

Thanks!

The sticky needs updated to show Mac Detector Tools current version is 2.5.2

We’re glad you figured it out, thank you for following up as this can be very helpful to others.

An update feature within the current software would be nice.
