Hi-
I am on my 4th Escort unit, moving up in features each time. A friend has a different brand and it seemed to work well so I investigate that one and this one and chose this one, primarily because of aesthetics. I purchased the Max360 and was really super excited at first. Of course I had to turn off X Band unless I wanted to locate grocery stores with door openers. Now I have had to turn off K band because all it does is detect the collision avoidance radars in mine and other cars. Surely there must be some type of DSP to filter that out! Is this being worked on? But the most important thing is the LASER alerts. The 360 does an awesome job of false alarming. I don't know if it is sunlight or LED brake lights on cars I'm behind or what, but I have only seen it alert (for real) twice. Many times I have to turn off LASER detection completely. Because of this, the unit is practically useless to me. You would think that I could update its firmware. Well Detector tools (legacy) tells me it is up to date. Even now with the mandatory update out there and needing to be installed by the 12th. Detector Tools Pro tells me it can't find the detector and never has been able to find it. About a year ago I called in and spoke with a nice gentleman who seemed to think my USB cable was defective. He sent me a new one free of charge and that did not help either. SO I kept using it with X, K, and LASER turned off. VERY expensive KA detector! Tonight I decided I was going to conquer this thing and tried another USB cable. I get the beeps from the Windows 10 PC when I connect it and device manages shows a 360 (with yellow caution exclamation mark). I uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times and still same message of No Detector Connected. I am now at my wits end with this expensive device. It performs horribly and nothing I do seems to let me update it. It is probably out of warranty now too. Escort, can you PLEASE help me get a detector that actually works correctly? You can leave X band on. It will learn and ignore the grocery stores. Note that X is still used in some areas (including the state police in Ohio). The same is true for fixed location K band false alerts. In its default settings MAX 360 will learn and ignore them.
If Detector Tools is saying your detector is up to date, then it is up to date. Detector Tools checks your software and then pings our server. The version of Detector Tools you have installed does not determine this. When you install Detector Tools Pro, be sure to check or uncheck the driver installation box according to the installation instructions. False laser alerts are not normal. For further assistance, please contact our customer service department.

my 360 is having similar issues but only with the rear facing sensor...it picks up a ka band, one bar only, and keeps pinging one bar only for miles on end.
even when i turn off onto a deserted farm road (texas) it still continues to ping rear ka band. ive had to drive around with the mute on, which defeats the whole purpose. anyone else having this type of issue? |

Does the rear radar alert ever go away?
False Ka alerts can mean that there is an issue with the detector. If you see this happen frequently, and never see police to go with the Ka alert, then you should have your MAX 360 serviced. To set this up, contact us at the number in my signature below.
