Default Max360: Connection issues after latest update (iPhone X)

Iím still experiencing random disconnections between the Max360 and my iPhoneX after the latest update. The pairing works fine and initial connection when I get in the car is fine. When it reports a Ka Band, it (Max360) will, randomly, no longer show the speed limit and the EL app, at the same time, will no longer show any connection. It still shows Bluetooth as being connected (Bluetooth symbol on Max360) but EL shows a red Bluetooth symbol until I reboot the device.

Still seeing issues with random disconnects.
I did narrow it down, though:

It disconnects from my phone only when the phone is un-muted and passing through notifications. If it's muted it doesn't disconnect as often. Of course, that limits the usability as the mute prevents the detector from passing thru sound to my phone/car speakers.

Seems I am having a similar problem. I recently upgraded to iPhone X. Since then, pairing with the Max360 seems to work. On the Bluetooth page in my phone, it says that the MAx360 is Connected, but in the Escort Live app, it consistently tells me that no radar detector is found. I can get all the live data on the app on my phone, but there is no communication between the app and the detector on my dash.

Ideas??

Quick/temporary fix is to turn off the detector and turn it back on (without messing with your phoneís app or connection. It then fixes the connection and should show the speed limit on the radar detector from the app instead of the Bluetooth symbol.

That said - itíll still randomly lose connection again and show red in the app and no speed data on the detector. Seems to happen more often when the mute switch is OFF.

If that doesnít work and you have your car connecting automatically to your phone, may want to check out the Bluetooth connection delay option in the EL app. Noticed that some cars (as of ios11) fight with EL/360max to connect. Adjusting it one way or other letís things connect 1 at a time and avoid issues.

Hope this helps until a fix for us is available.

We have not been able to replicate this issue. Are you using any other bluetooth devices while using your detector with Escort Live, such as hands-free in your car? If so then please let us know as much as you can about it.

Thank you

Those having this bluetooth connection loss issue, please let me know the first two digits of the serial number of your MAX 360. It should be either 79 or 85.

Thank you

79 on fw1.6 here... can see(but not connect) the detector in the list of available devices via the bluetooth settings of the phone settings app, but the EL app does not recognize a detector at all. (Using Iphone X on 11.2.2, had similar issues on previous Iphone 7+). Additional info if makes any difference...the detector is hardwired and I do not use a smartcord, but I have tried the smartcord and it made no difference. Also, I have tried a factory reset with no better results.

Thank you bdalton. Others who reported this, please post your serial number's first two digits.

Please note that earlier I specified to not use a SmartCord Live power cord with MAX 360 (or any detector which has built-in bluetooth). Note the "Live" in its name. These cords have bluetooth in them which will interfere with the bluetooth in the detector. These cords are only intended to be used with older detectors which do not have bluetooth in them.

You can use a non-Live SmartCord or direct-wire SmartCord or a basic direct-wire/hard-wire/mirror tap wire without causing bluetooth connection issues.

Default Not pairing with an iPhone 8

I have a MAX 360 serial beginning with 79 approximately purchased in Aug 2016

I cannot connect with the MAX 360 .. the iPhone recogixes the MAX 360 but when I click to pair it it says in a popup to make sure it is ready to pair and turned on. ... I have downloaded the Detector Upgrade tool and updated the firmware on 2/25/2018

Please advise .. This is frustrating .. I used it flawlessly connecting to my old iPHone 5s

I live in Cincinnati, if you are unable to replicate the issue, I could bring my radar detector and phone by the store... which I did on Saturday 2/24/ at noon and no one was there doors locked even though it said on your website that the store was open on Sat 9-5 ?????
