I recommend mounting them in-between headlights and front plate in the grille openings that are above the bumper.

No, the 9500ci's laser sensors are synchronized in pairs. You could actually hurt performance by putting rear sensors up front.
On the new MAX Ci and MAX Ci 360, you can place each sensor anywhere you like as long as you change the appropriate settings on the Interface.
