We initially produced some North American EX's for the International market until we had the International version ready. These were modified to International standards.

The default settings and access to the international databases are the differences. This requires different hardware. Detection-wise they are the same.

Could you please expand upon the specific differences between the Redline EX and Redline EX International? What can the Intíl do that the normal one canít and vice versa?

Could this explain why early EX units did not seem to have the raw range the the Redline O had? So now there are two separate versions has the EX been tweeked up a bit?

RedLine EX is performing comparably to RedLine. They both meet the same specifications.

I haven't seen any evidence that the EX is on par with the O and all the senior guys here know it not to be the case. There are guys genuinely interested in Radar Detectors inquiring about your new Redline "top range performer" and it's downright insulting that you make this claim time and time again.

I have tested the detectors and know the EX does not perform on par with the O.

No one here is accusing or attacking Escort, they are simply trying to understand. Why can't this forum have an honest discussion so everyone can learn, which leads to better radar detectors in the future?

Please point me towards evidence that I am wrong before just dismissing my post.

That's kinda what i was getting at. I was hoping that by switching to a separate international model the USA version would go back to Redline O performance levels. It would make sense and that would be great, Redline O performance with auto lockouts and K band filtering. Bam done where do i order one.

it's a shame because the other features of the detector are great and it is a long range detector

but, it's no O and everyone knows it. it makes sense that the US version would have better range without the international gun support - exactly what we're all trying to figure out.

Hello - first post here, after following for sometime. Is there any evidence/testing results that can be shared with the community on this? Most everything else Iíve found does not support this statement, and from reading other comments posted here there seems to be the same understanding (that is EX <> Redline in terms of performance).
