Exclamation Be careful of phishing scams

Be careful of holiday phishing scams.

I recently received the email shown below which appears to come from the US Postal Service (USPS). This is a phishing email. The website that the weblink takes you to (highlighted in red) is not USPS.com.

"Phishing" means that the links in the email take you to another website and not the website that it claims, in this case USPS.com. The fake website that it takes you to will look real. This real-looking fake website will then ask you to log in to your account or enter personal information. The scammers then have this information.

I have seen similar phishing emails which claim to come from Amazon.com.

In this busy time of year, take a few seconds before logging in or entering your information from a link to make sure that it is really who it claims to be.
