Just purchased a '13 Camero. Prior owner had a Shifter installed. The front shifters are installed behind the front bumper. Doesn't seem correct as I thought they had to be partially visible. Comments?

You are correct, shifters should not be behind a grill or bumper. They need to be out front as much as possible with a clear view. Ideally you would like the laser head to be on the plane where the laser beam first strikes the front-most surface of the car and starts being reflected. As you start getting further back the beam may already have been reflected by that front most surface. Mounting limitations may be more challenging on some vehicles.

Exactly correct. Also, be sure that they are mounted level to the road, and angled straight ahead.

as the others have commented is correct , i have jammers/shifters installed on my car
if they are behind a object the jamming performance is drastically lowered if not it is made almost useless depends on the how much of the jammer/ shifter is visible amount it can receive and send signals is cruical would highly reccomend to place them in the grill or bumper area pointing straight ahead and level to the road for maximum performance Last edited by rmloki1; August 1st, 2017 at 12:52 AM. |
