I was sitting at a light in the presence of such an emitter switched the 360c to Highway and sure enough it then picked up the K signal that was not showing in Auto Mode on the 360c but does show in Auto on the MAX.

*** Do you believe or know if it was seeing the signal at all (perhaps grey color locked out on display) or in Auto Mode was it just not seeing the signal??? That's very odd behaviour that in Highway mode it would begin to see the signal versus Auto mode where it did not?? Highway is NOT speed dependent whereas Auto Mode is. ***

In Auto Mode it was not displaying anything on the 360c, but when switched to Highway Mode it was displaying an active (non-greyed) signal. I assume in Auto Mode it was seeing that signal but was filtering it (unlike the MAX which saw and displayed a greyed signal). This also happens at slower speeds at that location (as opposed to completely stopped). This presents an interesting question, if in Auto Mode is seeing but filtering the signal (such as there is nothing displayed) will it still Auto Learn it (as it would have if I were in Highway Mode)?

I also notice that when pulling into grocery store parking lots my MAX (Auto Mode) would either show a lockout or double beep (Cruise Control), whereas the 360c (Auto Mode) tends to show no signal at all until I get right next to the doors whereupon I get an instant full blast K (like I/O). I assume that when the firmware update for the MAX/MAX2 comes out my MAX will then behave more like the 360c and be less K sensitive.

I also drove by a spot on an interstate which has a "false" K signal that I continually have to lock out on my MAX from time to time. On the 360c in Auto Mode it displays no signal at all and I'm over 65 mph at that spot. I'm going to switch to Highway next time and I believe it will then show on the display. By the way I have TSR in its default On setting.

I recognize the locations, you must be in NJ PA. Take a run out route 78 from NJ to Pa and see the big orange median Ka radar sign false alert. Love the background music.

once you lock that signal out, it should remember it, and even though that's in the range of a legit k band gun, the chances of it being spot on a very slim, imo

Lockouts are location-specific though. If the detector is falsing to his car that won't help.

I think the best thing you can do is try a different mounting location (eg higher on the windshield or low to the dash), and try turning TSR on. You might take a slight hit in detection range, but it's worth it if you can prevent constant falses to your vehicle.

I'm thinking that this is not a lock-out issue as much a Max360c filtering issue. If it were lockout, clearly it would be dismissed as such ( greyed out) as being seen, but locked out. If it's being filtered, it's being seen, but being seen as a false and being totally rejected. Try turning TSR off at same location in auto mode , easy to do on Live , and see what happens. It seems to me that between IVT and TSR , the unit is filtering to the point that it's not recognizing valid K band signals.

poolmon,
Auto mode filtered out a false signal, it is doing its job. Once the same firmware is available for your Max or Max 2, you should recognize the same performance with it.

I've got plenty of (video'd) runs against that 34.7 Ka sign, it's been there for years and still keeps on going. Just went by it last night coming from Tribeca.

Just off of the Hellertown exit. I go up there when I make a Waffle House run. There are only a handful of these in the state of PA and that's one of them.

Default Just got it...

Just received and installed the unit in my car and am heading out to Montauk Point for the weekend in a few hours. So I'll get to test her out on Long Island Distressway.

But I have to say I'm thoroughly impressed with the unit already. The unit has a great sturdy feel to it that my Max didn't really have, I love the new magnetic window clip, and it immediately paired up with Escort Live.
