Default Highlighting my Ignorance Once Again

Do I want to pair my Max II to my truck's blue tooth radio or to my smartphone's bluetooth?
A fair answer would be "truck" or "phone".
A much better answer would include why for this old analog man in a digital world. morgan

The Max II can only pair with a Smartphone, since the smartphone will be running the EL app.

I have set up my Max II as you directed. It seems to work (somewhat) but when I get a radar alert (tone) I do not get a voice saying K Band or Ka Band or whatever. I really need the voice since the display is too dim to read. I went thru all preferences and ensured voice was "on" wherever I could so select. Any thoughts? This is an ebay purchase that I have not yet registered - I can't figure out how to register it since the display is so dim that selecting M+M during startup will not show the serial number. I think I'm in real pickle here. Typical for me.

Simple enough, turn brightness up all the way (button on top of detector), then wait till darkness sets in and then do the M&M - write the ser # down & call Escort in the morning......or Monday

You can plug it into Detector Tools or DT Pro on a WINDOWS computer via USB to see if it shows the serial number there.

Forgot about that option, yeah you could do that too if you have the correct USB cord.

You guys are great. I appreciate all the help. I'm so disgusted that my 9500ix worked so well but too many falses on Hondas and such. Now this one will not see anything and when it finally does blare out a loud noise, it does not give voice to identify the band. I'm ready to send the Max II in to Escort for their best service and be done with it. I hear that they basically send back a new unit with warranty - that sound correct?

Have to ask Escort Radar (Larry) about all that.

Worked just like you said, barely readable but I got it.
Guess I'll be on hold for 30 minutes Monday morning to set up a service for this Max II.
