Escort Forum,

Let me take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Gail Babitt and I am the CEO of Cedar Electronics, owner of Escort and Cobra brands. Many of you know that several of us have recently joined the RD Forum.

We recognize that the forums are a great place to discuss radar detectors. The participants are some of the most knowledgeable and passionate radar detection individuals. As such, we want to be part of the community.

You will notice that effective today some of us have joined the Escort forum. Allow me to introduce the team:
  • Joe Sherbondy is our Product Manager, Radar. He will be here to help provide feedback on enhancements and updates to our existing products. He will also provide information when new products are launched.
  • John Kuhn is our Chief Technology Officer. John will be here to engage on our technology.
I will also be on the forum. We are here to listen and learn from radar enthusiast like you. We all have the same goal in mind, to ensure radar detectors continue to raise the bar.

We will continue to share updates and look forward to interacting with the Escort forum users.

Well since my FuzzBuster/CB Radio days hauling butt across country. As long as FUDD hides in the bushes, behind signs .....at the bottom of the hill.....all for "public safety".....I will use countermeasures.

Hello Gail -I am thrilled that you have decided to participate in this forum as well. I met up with some enthusiasts over the weekend they were all really interested in how radically my Redline 360c changed.

Welcome to the Forum. I am hopeful that Escort may listen more to their customers with your participation here. Thank you! My biggest concern is the need for AutoJTK for ZR5/ZW5 Laser Shifter that has been promised since 2018 in an Interview with Vortex on YouTube. I am feeling a little refreshed to know that your hearing us, however I hope that Actions are taken to resolve this matter. My ZR5 is working in conjunction with MAX360 Radar Detector. Thank you! and once again WELCOME!!!

Given the fact that when paired to the New Redline this feature already exists now I'd say that is a good indication of things to come. Escort is listening for sure!

Hi Gail thank you for being on this form.
Just watched a video test of the MAX3. Vortex Radar did the test and it may need an adjustment on K band. In Auto or AutoLoK it will not alert well at all. Seams to be OK in Hway mode. Check it out. Thank you

Hello Gail welcome to the Forum.
I am an old escort radar detector customer. I have the first generation Passport 9500XI. This unit is still working as expected.
I recently purchased a New Escort Max360c direct from Escort only to find that the WiFi will not work with my New 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit. It appears that when the Max360c was designed your engineers did not take into consideration that new vehicles would not be compatible with this radar detector.
You only limit the WiFi to 2.4 ghz. Most new vehicles have 5 ghz WiFi systems.
I also see you have a new Red Line which has the same limitations.
I paid an awful lot for my Max360c and my Jeep only to have your customer service department say tough luck and not even offer a free upgrade to a new Max360c that actually works with my vehicle.
I sent an email yesterday and got this response:

Dear Valued Customer,
Thank you for contacting us. As a result of the state mandated shut down of our business lasting from March 24-July 8 2020, many of our services had been disrupted/delayed. Since we recently reopened, we have received a tremendous surge in calls from customers looking to obtain service of some kind. As a result, our resources are currently focused on answering phone calls and email inquiries cannot be answered at this time. Here are some general updates as to the state of the business and what services are currently available:
Repair services have begun, and we are now accepting items for repair. See below for details.
We are accepting trade in units for credit. See below for details.
Product refunds are now available. See below for details.
To send an item in for repair; Please call us at 800-543-1608, option 2 on the menu. We will set you up with a service order number. To streamline your experience, please:
Know the model name and/or serial number of the device you have.
To obtain in-warranty service, please have a copy of your purchase receipt if you bought your detector from one of our authorized dealers. This is not necessary for factory direct purchases.
Have a credit card available to set up payment on out of warranty repairs.
To facilitate troubleshooting help, please have your device handy and ready to power on.
**Please note; if your product was under warranty as of March 1st, 2020, your warranty has been extended and you will be covered if you send it for repair on or before 8/21/20.
To send your trade in unit back for a trade in refund, please: (available on products purchased after 2-24-20)
Ship the item with tracking and insurance to the appropriate address below:

Cobra products to: Cobra Electronics, 6500 W Cortland St., Chicago, IL, 60607, Attn: (your order number here)

To send your product back for a refund or exchange: (Available for products purchased after Feb 24th, 2020)
