Default ZR3 does not perform self test

To begin with I am glad I found this forum as I always forget to call during regular business hours. Anyways on to the problem. . .I purchased secondhand a ZR3 shifter a few years ago and have really enjoyed having it. About 2 months ago I noticed that it has stopped making any noise and does not perform the self test that it should upon startup. The sensor lights do not activate and the power light blinks continuously. I originally sent an email to customer support which wasn't returned for two weeks and what was returned was the standard "find one of our authorized installers" email. The problem I have is that I consider myself very competent in automotive electronics and I have checked all the normal power and ground areas looking for problems only to find none. Before this issue my sensors were working as normal and judging by my problem I would doubt they would be the issue. I would like to figure out a way to bypass the manufacturer/dealer/installer network and find a way to figure this out. Can I send the head-unit or the main module in for testing? Since I live so close does Escort allow me to personally drop off my unit for testing? Thanks in advance for any help anybody has.

-Tim

Be sure that the connections from the shifter units to the interface and from the interface to the control unit are good. Also make sure that none of these cables are pinched. Almost all operational issues with the ZR3/ZR4 are due to the shifter units, you will probably need to replace one or more.

You are welcome to stop by our store. We cannot help with the installation or un-installation of the system but if you have it un-installed already I'm sure we can service it.
