Default Defender EU database. Coverage and functional problems.

Hi!

Some days ago my friend came from Slovenia to Moscow. On car has installed 9500ci.
One from first questions was:
"Are Russia is under sanctions from Escort? No one notifications about fixed cameras from border to Moscow. How many penalty i could collect on this 300-miles way?"
In search of an answer, i studied the largest Russian forum on radar-detectors and was shocked.

Not only that problems with the correctness of the data exist in the database from the very beginning and haven't been eliminated for at least 5 years.
I mean even not actuality of information, although this is one of the most important factors of protection, any products of Escort isn't even able to notify about mass-used in this territory average speed cameras!
It's two independ fixed camera by the opinion of the world's leader of the detectors...

Moreover, after series of questions from Russian customers like "Why i should pay for this ****?" Escort, instead of fixing the problem, simply canceled the subscription fee for Defender for products which was oficially selled in Russia.
And now it's can be seen as "No payment, no support".
BTW, it's official policy of Escort about Russia now?
Two months of "clear" database, no any answer from official distributor to user questions...
As result users of "the world's best devices" are forced to purchase a various of different solution to duplicate a non-functional Escort.
And finally, exactly same data get all the EU users with exactly the same result - device can't perform all their functions where it is required for the Escort's users.

Can someone give official comments about it?
And about ways and terms of the decision of a problem?

Very nice.
AFAIK this is to solve personal problems that aren't typical.
You want to say that this problem only concerns my friend and isn't interested for other Escort's users?
I think You mistake a little bit...

TBNTX , sorry, i can't understand how the statements of EscortRadar, cited by You, may be consistent at one moment. If database size exceed limit of available memory, it can't be upload to device without error. If database has over 9000 points on some territory - device can't be silent on this long way...

I'm only citing what EscortRadar has posted about this issue. I'm not an employee. I'm simply a user on the forum like you are, but I've been trusted with moderator privileges.

Keep in mind that when the 9500ix and 9500ci were designed, there couldn't have been a sense how very dramatically the RLC databases would grow over the years. I'm not making any excuses, I'm just repeating what I've read.

EscortRadar will see this post an reply as the official Escort representative, soon.
