Might want to check your cable. I've tested on 10.12.2, and 10.12.3 Beta 2, and no problems.

Code:
$ defaults read /Applications/ESCORT\ Detector\ Tools.app/Contents/Info.plist CFBundleShortVersionString
2.3.6
$ sw_vers
ProductName:	Mac OS X
ProductVersion:	10.12.3
BuildVersion:	16D17a
I'd still like to see Escort sign their application, but I digress.

I just got off the phone with Escort Support, turns out that the DW is compatible with ElCapitan/Sierra but the DW2 is currently not. (support hopefully coming soon). I managed to borrow a windows 7 computer, it can see the DW2 fine, but wouldn't go past step 2 of 2 of reprogramming. Looks like mine is pooched somehow, new one ordered.

How do I get into detector settings on this mac version?

Windows version of detector tools worked great, mac not so much.........

Is the only thing that can be done is firmware updates? I need to change settings.....

You will need to change the settings on the detector itself or use the Escort Live app. The Mac version is only to update firmware and your database.

Note that even with the Windows version of Detector Tools you cannot change the detector settings on most of our newer detectors with Detector Tools.

Exclamation Compatibility issue or defective hardware?

New User.

Have a 9500ix
Using a Mac running OS 10.12.4
Data cord supplied by Escort
Detector tool V 2.3.6

Both the cord and unit registered.

Cannot login to database or update anything.
Upon plugging all in Detector tool reports: No detector connected
Serial number area is red with x's
Defective Product or bad/incompatible software.
Tried on a laptop with similar results
Should return this to Costco?

If the serial number of your 9500ix begins with 72 then it is not compatible with the Mac version of Detector Tools. The Windows version of Detector Tools is compatible with the 9500ix with serial number beginning with 72.

Adding to this...

If Shankarj6 doesn't have access to a Windows-based computer, be aware that any MacOS user can install a Bootcamp partition and install Windows on their Mac system. I have done this on one of my MacBook Pro laptops, and I currently have a Windows 10 OS installation. It works flawlessly.

Refer to Apple's KnowledgeBase article about using Bootcamp if you'd like further information.

Kindest regards to Shankarj6.
