Default Best radar settings for the iXc for NYC?

Hi Forum, I'm new to the radar detectors. My question is what are the best radar settings for NYC/NJ tri-state area. Thank you in advance and stay safe

Iím not from your area, but Iíd recommend trying Auto mode. Leave X & K band on. NJ supposedly has some X band still in use.

I personally run in highway mode for a while and get the feel for whatís around my normal driving area before making the switch to Auto mode. When Iím cruising down the interstate or wide open highways I use highway for maximum sensitivity and just accept that I will have a few K band falses from other vehicles. Normally the IVT filter does a good job of keeping the radar detector pretty quite.

Report back and we can definitely help you fine tune your settings.

If you find you are getting too many X band false signals, especially in NY, you can run it in Auto No X mode. That will allow AutoLearn to build up X band lockouts in the background while remaining silent on X alerts, whereas if you turned off X band AutoLearn would also be turned off on X.

As far as X band in NJ and greater tri state area, I haven't seen it there in years. I predominately run across Ka with some laser.
